The CON-PNEU-FLATE™
is an inflatable conveyance device that will creep up a vertical
passage way or tunnel.
This device is designed to climb perpendicular passage ways or tunnels
in unsafe and unstable conditions. The device could be suitable
for functions in the mining industry. This device has been developed
to assist where it is unsafe and unstable for personnel to enter
confined spaces.
If there is a structure that has collapsed, remote controlled devices
are available to manoeuvre through the debris and rubble on a horizontal
plain but will not be able to climb a vertical passage. It will
be possible for the CON-PNEU-FLATE™ device
to climb an obtuse incline through a crevice in the debris. This
device can be made to climb a vertical shaft such as a chimney stack
to do inspection where there is not enough space to build scaffolding.
The
device consists of a array of inflatable bladders that are inflated
and deflated in a permutation in a concertina motion to drive in
a chosen direction. This device is designed to be able to be inserted
into a chamber via a reduced orifice.
The array of modules consists of three different size modular bladders.
An outer modular bladder, that when inflated, will permute and abut
to the wall of the passage way. A propulsion modular bladder and
an inner core filler modular bladder.
